You Can Also Use Mi Band 4 to Control Your Android’s Camera
Xiaomi recently released the global version of Mi Band 4. And while it still lacks a dedicated button to capture pictures, (maybe on Mi Band 5 will get that) it still retains all the features ofMi Band 3, include the integration with 3rd party apps.
In the past, we showed you how touse your Mi Band 3 to control music on your Androidandunlock your Windows PC. It is good to see that Xiaomi hasn’t removed the functionality.

Mi Band Camera Control
We’ll this feature might not be for everyone, but could be useful in some situations. For example, when you’re with a large group of friends or family and wish to take a group picture but can’t fit all of them in a frame, you’re able to use your Mi Band to trigger the shutter from a distance, as long as you have Android smartphone. Let’s see how it works.
As you know that Mi Smart Band 4 doesn’t support camera trigger function natively, you’ll need a third-party app to make it work. Start by downloading theMi Band 2/4 & Amazfit Selfieapp from the Play Store. It’s free and works with all the version of Mi Band and Amazefit.

Next, we’ll copy the Mi Band’s Bluetooth Address to the Amazfit Selfie app to your phone. This would allow the app to freely communicate with the band without any problem. you may find the Mi Band Bluetooth Address on theMiFit app. Go toMiFitapp > tap onProfile> tap the Mi Band and scroll to the bottom andcopytheBluetoothAddress long tapping the address.
Now, go back to the Amazfit app and paste theBluetooth Addresson to the input field next toMACfield and tap theconnectbutton on the bottom to pair the band to the app. The band would vibrate on successful pairing with the app.

We’re not quite ready yet, unlike the name,Amazefit Selfieapp, it only enables the band to send the command to take a picture, you still would have to download a supported third-party camera app. Fortunately, the developer has listed 4 camera apps that are compatible with Amzazefit Selfie app, you can find them in the bottom half of the screen. Just tap on the one you want and install it from the Play Store.
Install the camera app (we have installedNight Selfie Camera) and open it.

Now, to click a picture with theMi Band 2, keep the camera app open and just tap on the button on the band, it’ll take the picture or record the video, depending on which mode it’s set to.
However, if you have aMi Smart Band 4 or a Mi Band 3, the steps are a little bit different. Keep the camera app opened, and go toSilentmode on the Mi Band.Tap and holdthe button to activate the shutter and there you go; you just clicked a picture with the Mi Band. I agree it’s a weird way to trigger the shutter and a single tap could have achieved the same effect but it is what it is.

I personally am always on a lookout for creative ways to solve a problem, even though there are plenty of efficient ways. But the reason I chose to include this method is that it offers a quick solution. If you already have these devices. I am a sucker for new hacks and if you have on for the Mi Band, let me know in the comments.
