Novels being turned into films and series have been a recurring theme in the film industry. Recently,Stranger Thingsfame actress Millie Bobby Brown released her first novel titledNineteen Steps. During an interview, the actress explained what inspired her to write a novel, emphasizing that she wants her book to get wider recognition and hopes for a film adaptation of her novel.
Brown’s novel is also available in the form of an audiobook. The actress claimed that recording the audiobook of her novel was therapeutic for her.
Millie Bobby Brown hopes for a film adaptation of her novel
Millie Bobby Brownis a renowned actress who has appeared in numerous iconic films and series throughout her career. Known for her acting gig, the actress has recently surprised fans with her recently released novel,Nineteen Steps. So apart from being an actress, Brown is also a writer, who is currently very optimistic about her project.
During an appearance onLorraine, the actress expressed her desire for a film adaptation of her novel. When Brown was asked if she was planning for a film adaptation of her novel, the actress enthusiastically responded by saying,
“Yes, definitely. That was the intention behind it. Naturally, I just want to create more, so, yes, this is a great foundation.”

The actress further explained the inspiration behind her first novel. Brown said,
“My nan told me the stories when I couldn’t sleep at night and I think, for a while, and maybe until I was eight, I didn’t think they were real. And then I slowly realized that these were things that happened to her in her childhood, during World War Two.”
Brown’s novel,Nineteen Steps,is a fictional novel, based on her grandmother’s life, who has witnessed the situation of World War II. Brown beautifully narrates the story of a teenage girl who is set to marry her childhood lover. However, things take a twist when the girl falls for another guy. With such various twists and turns, Brown presents an engaging novel for her readers.

Millie Bobby Brown’s novel faced controversy
Millie Bobby Brown’s novelNineteen Stepsis now out for sale and the actress is very optimistic about her novel. Although the novel is doing well, the controversy that surrounded it can’t be overlooked.
There have often been controversies about celebrities using ghostwriters without giving them credit for their work. Since Brown’s book is also written with the assistance of ghostwriter author, Kathleen McGurl, some people claimed that Brown is stealing the credit from the ghostwriter as during the promotion of her novel, Brown posted many pictures of her book on her social media account, but it only has her name on the cover page.
However, the actress also made a separate post acknowledging McGurl’s contribution to her book.
