The set ofA Few Good Menwas a riot thanks to the presence of the celebrated comedianKevin Pollak. Known for his comedic and stand-up skills, the actor didn’t even spare his co-starTom Cruisewhen cracking jokes. Cruise already known for his peculiar ways, used to have a special pen that he would use to make notes on the script and this pen was considerable in size. Hence, it naturally called for Pollak to make fun of it. In an interview withThe Sun, the actor remarked,
“And so the stand-up comedian in me found myself giving s**t to Tom about whatever I wanted because we became equals and friends within two hours. I found myself saying, ‘Hey Tom, they don’t make a bigger pen? You know what, I’ll bet they do. Come on, let’s go find one.'”
Even Cruise enjoyed the light banter, but soon he retaliated by urging Pollak to try the pen.
“Tom laughed the first eleven times I made fun of the pen, but eventually, he said, ‘Yeah, yeah, funny – try writing with the pen.’ So I take the pen and oh Jesus, that pen was like an angel wing floating on a cloud. It had its own kind of suspension system. But I loved that pen.”
And so Tom Cruise ended up gifting him not one but two pens.

Tom Cruise Gifted Kevin Pollak The ‘Angel Wing’ Pen
Tom Cruise is known to be too generous, whether it comes to his crew members or his co-stars. Hence in a true Cruise-like fashion, he gifted the same pen to Kevin Pollak, who unfortunately didn’t use it (viaThe Sun).
“Later I used a different pen, and Tom says, ‘Kev, where’s the pen?’ And I say, ‘Tom, I can’t use the pen! The pen goes on a mantle in my house with a pen light hitting it just right. When people come to the house Tom, I’ll point to the pen and I’ll tell them the story about the pen and it’ll be the greatest fing pen story they’ll ever hear! But no Tommy, I can’t, I can’t use the pen, because if I use the pen I might lose the pen and that can never fing happen.'”
TheMission: Impossiblestar then gifted the actor a second pen, which yet again went straight to the mantle.
“Tom laughed. A week later Tom’s assistant handed me another wrapped gift and says, ‘Tom wants you to use the other pen.’ So now, in my home on the mantle are two pens in their boxes.”
And that is how Pollak ended up with two ‘Angel Wing’ pens.
