We’ve known aboutXDefiantfor years since its announcement in 2021. But with a difficult process like most Ubisoft projects, the game did not meet the certification requirements to be released on PlayStation and Xbox, and will therefore be delayed. So, due to this refusal, gamers will not see the FPS release until probably September or October.

XDefiant, Ubisoft’s Upcoming FPS, Has Been Delayed on PlayStation and Xbox Due to Ridiculous Reason

For Dull Reasons, Xbox and PlayStation Caused the Postponement of Ubisoft’s XDefiant

Formerly known as Tom Clancy’sXDefiant, Ubisoft’s upcoming FPS should now arrive between September or October, after certification was denied by the approval process for release on PlayStation and Xbox. The company and its representatives have already come forward to comment on what happened and have tried to prevent the hype from falling down.

Mark Rubin, producer at Ubisoft, previously said in a written update that the company had begun the certification process for the launch ofXDefiantfor PlayStation and Xbox by the end of July. But, during the month of August, they received a big and simple NO for the debut that was planned at the end of that month.

After the past shame, Ubisoft must once again go after finding and resolving bugs in its product and other nonconformities, so thatXDefiantcan be released by the new date. The company certainly does not want to be refused another time. This new attempt should take place in less than 2 weeks, and if the game is approved, it will reach players in mid-September.

Still, Rubin stated thatXDefiantshould gain a Conditional Pass, that is, Ubisoft will add a correction patch on the first day of launch, which is planned for October. So, in addition to delivering a game that didn’t even pass basic approval, it will still correct more issues on Day 1.

This is not to mention the disguising the fact that it will deliver a product that is certainly incomplete, continuing to tarnish the brand with continuous developments that are too hasty.

Rubin tried to explain:

“If we were following the standard rules for game releases, we would have set a date far enough in advance with enough buffer to have a confident release date. However, like a lot of things with this game, we have not chosen the typical route”.

“Having millions of people play your game long before it’s ready is not normal. Not being afraid to show an unfinished game to millions of people with all its flaws is not normal. These were real tests and not just marketing events.
