Tom Holland has been amassing international stardom due to his portrayal of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the super-famous,Spider-Manfranchise. Given the success of his trilogy series, a fourth sequel is in development however, would it be able to keep him for future projects? Tom Hollandmade his big debut as Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’sCaptain America: Civil War (2016). Since then, he has been actively reprising his role and even got to lead three films with the third one,Spider-Man: No Way Homebecoming a major success.

Given that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios have been laying the groundwork for theSpider-Manfranchise, it is for sure that the fourth sequel is going to happen. While the actor is set to reprise his role in the MCU, he is being quite cautious about his future in the franchise.

In an interview withYahoo Entertainment(via Kevin Polowy,) he shared his thoughts on returning to his role as a friendly neighborhood spidey.

“If we can’t find a way to compete with the third one, he’ll swing off into the sunset.”

The 2021 film had already raised the bar high for the next stories that are yet to be revealed in the franchise, which is also what our Peter Parker actor is going to see. From his statement, it looks like he is going to wait for a good story before making up his mind to return to the franchise.

While his return remains an intriguing question for the fans, he addressed reprising his MCU role in an interview with ET. Adding to what it would take for him to continue being a web-slinger, he stated,

“I think as long as we can do justice to Peter Parker. As long as we can keep elevating and making the films better and making them mean more, then I’ll be there.”

He continued,

“I’d be stupid to say that I wouldn’t be the luckiest kid alive if I got to do it again, there’s stuff going on, but we’ll have to just wait and see what happens.”

Though his web-slinger journey is yet to finish, he announced a break from acting after producing and starring inThe Crowded Room.The show touched him on several levels which was“hard”for him.
