Later, the meme world picked up the film for its unlimited supply of meme materials. The movie did have some prominent names in the cast list including Renée Zellweger, Ray Liotta,Chris Rock, and John Goodman.

About 14 years after its original release,Jerry Seinfeldis finally addressing the bizarre romance between the lead characters, Barry B. Benson and Vanessa Bloome. “And then I had to make a movie with a bee and — you know all those things take time. And I apologize for what seems to be a certain uncomfortable subtle sexual aspect of the Bee Movie, which really was not intentional,”the comedian told Fallon.

“But after it came out, I realized, ‘This is really not appropriate for children.’ No. Because the bee seemed to have a thing for the girl. You know. And we don’t really want to pursue that as an idea in children’s entertainment.”

Jerry Seinfeld Said He Doesn’t Like Him in the movies

Seinfeld is a successful comedian, indeed, but he does not possess a remarkable onscreen career. The comedian admitted that he’s not really the type of performer to pursue a film career. Telling David Spade, Seinfeld revealed that he is more accustomed to content with comedy and finds trouble enjoying working with other people’s material.

“I don’t like other people’s material, first of all. I was fine doing the series, but after that, I wasn’t looking. I really feel like I need to control the words, otherwise, it won’t be funny. I can’t do other people’s material and make it funny,”Seinfeld said.

“I can’t get over the incredible racket of stand-up comedy. I say yes to every gig because I love to go out and do the gig … I can’t deal with all the paraphernalia of other things and I don’t wonder what it’s like to have a hit.”

He may not like appearing in the movies but he did and withBee Movie, his name has been imprinted in the meme world. Following his apology on the show, his audience reacted to the decade-old controversy. Fans took to social media to express their opinion over Seinfeld’s apology.

“This is why it’s so hard to find a girl to have sex with, there’s unrealistic characters in movies that we have to compete with such as this hot, sexy bee,”one user wrote on Reddit.

Reacting to the word “undertone” in the show while the comedian was apologizing, one user wrote,“Undertones? No, those were just tones.”

Further, one user joked about a hypothetical sequel to the movie, saying,“I mean of course. You cannot have the bee and the girl hook up in the movie. You gotta leave something for the sequel.”

So, will there be a sequel? Highly, unlikely. The original movie was released over a decade ago and it’s unlikely they would put on another bee-human romance show for further controversies or to rectify it.
