Asking his folks to focus on the bright side and take advantage of the present global opportunities, Smith sought people to leave behind their dilemma.

Will Smith Encouraged Black Americans To Seize Opportunities
Speaking of how things have changed in the present, Will Smith delved into socio-political discussion during his 2021 interview withGQ. Following the pandemic, the actor stated how things began changing due to the Black Lives Matter movement. Thereafter officially supporting the movement, Smith encouraged a change.
“Opportunities are globally present and plentiful. I just want to encourage Black Americans to take the acknowledgment and seize upon the present global opportunities.”
Begging Black Americans to leave behind their dilemma, Will Smith asked them to focus on the things that are being served to them on a platter. Since the world is changing and people of color are being offered opportunities, Smith simply wants his folks to grab that, rather than wondering if the apple is poisoned.
“I would just like us to argue less about certain things and pay attention to the big ripe fruit.”
Instead of being suspicious and worried about everything, Will Smith believes it’s time to change the marketing strategy and focus on good things. The actor believes, that if people spend time wondering and fighting for constant change, they won’t be able to enjoy what’s right there.

Will Smith Wanted Critical Race Theory To Be Renamed
Getting deeper into the conversation, Will Smith was asked to be particular about which “certain things” he mentioned before. Realizing it’s a tricky question, the actor started choosing his words carefully before diving into the contentious semantic debates in contemporary politics. “This is a pitfall area,” he said.
“So ‘Abolish the police. Defund the police.’ I would love if we would just say ‘Defund the bad police.’ It’s almost like I want, as Black Americans, for us to change our marketing for the new position we’re in. So ‘critical race theory,’ just call it ‘truth theory,’”
Discussing how marketing strategies need to be changed with new positions and situations,Will Smithproposed that it’s important to rename the controversial concept of critical race theory. Speaking about the impact of words, the actor claimed that “defund the police” doesn’t have a similar influence like that of Black Lives Matter. Therefore, he is willingto rename the critical race theory as truth theory, instead of typically using the word “race” in particular. Smith believes that the new name will have a better impact.
“The pendulum is swinging in our direction beautifully. And there’s a certain humility that will most capitalize on the moment for the future of Black Americans, without discounting the difficulty and the pain and the emotion.”
