“Yeah. Especially coming on the heels of Captain America, this couldn’t be further away from Steve Rogers. They are very different people. You know, the reward for ‘Captain America’ is amazing. It’s always fun to see a giant spectacle film and see the fun stuff — the special effects and sh-t. And it’s fun to be a part of that.
“With Captain America, like I said, you might have three lines of dialogue the whole day. And there are just a million angles and a million set-ups and it’s tedious. This [snapping] you’ve got to go, go, go. You’ve got two takes and you had better move on. You’ve got to be prepared. You work. You work! You know, you come home and you feel like, I went to work today. I acted. I made a movie. It was good.”

Evans’ performance in the film was lauded by critics with reputed names likeRoger Ebertcomparing him to Al Pacino and Nicolas Cage. Between playing Captain America in various MCU films, he has continued doing other smaller and more character-driven films likeSnowpiercerandGifted.

GiftedWas A Welcome Change For Chris Evans After Back-to-Back Marvel Films
Chris Evans became a household name playing Captain America in the MCU. He played the role continuously from 2011 for 5 films in 7 years. By 2016, the character had reached its peak in terms of its popularity and its importance to the overall MCU narrative.
Evans was also overwhelmed with the constant need to maintain his physique or the role throughout the years so whenGiftedcame along, it was a welcome change for him. In an interview withCollider, Evans talked about his love for movies in general and how he wanted to make all types of films.
He also revealed that shootingGiftedwas the best experience as he was far more relaxed and comfortable doing the film when compared to the highly physical nature of doing Captain America. He said,
“I wish I knew! I think I wanted to become an actor because I just loved movies, whether it was watching something like Kramer vs. Kramer, or the old Batman movies. I just wanted to be a part of cinema. Personally, this is a little bit more of my speed. I really like films that touch on family dynamics. The best! It was the sh**! But, I like all movies.”
Evans got to flex his dramatic chops and venture into his more vulnerable side in the film. The film was also a hit at the box office. Fans are still clamoring for him to do another one of these feel-good dramas in addition to a return as Captain America.
