Since the director himself was a homosexual, there were allegations that he had purposefully added some homoerotic elements to the movie. The claims were refused by the director but also added that the gay community loved Clooney so much that they actually wanted the actor to be gay in the movie!

With George Clooney and Chris O’Donnell starring as Batman and Robin, fans have alleged that the movie featured several homoerotic materials that tried to make the characters have some kind of chemistry between them. Joel Schumacher, who is homosexual himself, was charged with allegations that he had purposefully made these adjustments. The director refused these claims. He did add, however, thatGeorge Clooneywas so famous in gay communities that the people actually wanted his character to be gay in the movie!

“There were a lot of people who I would say, in one particular community, wanted George Clooney to be gay so badly. The only people who ever said that to me were definitely gay men. I think it happens with people that are romantic s-x symbols who are on somebody’s wish list.”

“If I wasn’t gay, they would never say those things. This all started way before me. Long before I came along, someone wrote a whole thing about what the real message of fairy tales and children’s stories are. Snow White was all about having bad stepmothers. And Batman and Robin are two homosexual men living in a cave, living together. There’s always been this thing about Batman and Robin being gay.”
