And seems like Stephen Amell, who is known for starring in the Arrowverse as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow has also picked a side in the ongoing debate. Followed by his show’s conclusion, Amell was seen in the final season ofThe Flashalongside other Arrowverse characters.

Stephen Amell Talks About James Gunn’s DCU

James Gunn’splan for the new DCU has been criticized by many, primarily for the recasting of several characters like Henry Cavill’s Superman. While there are also fans who are eager and excited about the new DC Universe, theArrowactorStephen Amelldoesn’t seem to be among them.

During a recent live autograph signing on Whatnot, theHeelsstar shared his opinion on James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DCU. He shared that he has been getting mixed messages about the whole situation, claiming that he wants nothing more than great movies.

“I don’t know, man. I don’t know. Those guys, the DCEU, they need to decide if they think that they’re better than television or if they want to participate. Because I get mixed messages.”

He also shared that he did his best as Green Arrow and wished everyone the best for what they have in mind regarding these characters.“I wish everyone nothing but the best. I want nothing more than amazing movies,”he said. While talking about the new DCU, Amell also addressed the potential recasting of his DC character.

Stephen Amell has starred in the superhero TV seriesArrowfor 8 seasons and was last seen alongside Grant Gustin in the final season ofThe Flash. And when he was asked about the potential recasting of his DC character under James Gunn’s new DCU, the actor had something interesting to say.

“I am a custodian for Oliver Queen, and [Grant Gustin] is a custodian for Barry Allen in the same way,”he said before adding,“I don’t think anyone’s asking Tom Welling how he feels about who’s going to play the new Superman.”
