Almost every action movie from Hugh Jackman has been a masterpiece widely loved by audiences worldwide, and there’s absolutely no doubt about it. For someone who grounded his way to the top, the 55-year-old star has given the world some of the best performances of all time, or ‘a true cinema’, as filmmaker Martin Scorsese would like to say. Yet throughout that, he has been much criticized for his works as well, even for works that appealed incredibly to the common audiences.

Just like his $299 million masterpiece from 2011,Real Steel. Although it had massive potential to bring in some big bucks, it initially failed to impress critics. However, it seems that is changing now, considering the unexpected love the film is bringing in from fans after more than a decade of being released.

Hugh Jackman‘s acting chops are beyond indefinable and only people who have watched his movies can understand what these words truly mean. And just like every other film, he gave his all toReal Steelas well.

Created on a budget of $110 million in 2011, the movie couldn’t bring in more than $263.88 million even though it had the potential to perform even better at the worldwide box offices and become even more popular, all because of initial bad reception from the critics.
However, it seems times are changing now, considering how more than a decade after its release,Real Steelis finally gaining the love and appreciation it deserved right from the beginning, as per what fans have been sharing onXlately:

Why Hugh Jackman’sReal SteelInitially Failed Among Critics
Real Steelwas based on the story of Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman), who was a prizefighter on his way to winning a title until towering robots took over the ring. Defeated, he started working as a small-time promoter barely earning enough by piecing together scrap metal into cheap fighters.
Nonetheless, he soon hit rock bottom, after which he decided to team up with his estranged son Max (Dakota Goyo) to build a proper robot and train him for the championship as his last shot at redemption. However, this storyline failed to capture the critics’ attention at the beginning.
There were a lot of reasons behind Hugh Jackman’s $299 million movie initially failing to impress critics. Among these, one major reason was that the critics felt thatReal Steelwas a bit too predictable to pull off an exceptional charm.
Another reason that can be quoted is that this didn’t exactly bring any new or extraordinary storylines and just felt like an‘old cast shine-coated with a new layer of wax’or like a‘glossy commercial’.
Furthermore, some even claimed that the advertising wasn’t done properly for the film. Rather, it was confusing because people couldn’t figure out if the movie was aimed at kids or adults as a boxing movie.
Regardless, that was only the initial reception, and Hugh Jackman’sReal Steelhas come a long way from there to finally earn the love and acclamation it deserved, considering the massive hit it is currently raging on as among fans.
