Tom Holland has been known as the adorable, awkward teenager that got the superpowers from a spider bite. Portraying the role of Spider-Man in the MCU, Holland has often joked around on sets and between takes, until Marvel took it seriously.

It was during the early days of shooting when Tom Holland had the brilliant idea of going undercover in a school. Although Holland was fooling around, Marvel took it seriously and actually sent thePilgrimageactor to the Bronx School of Science!
When Marvel Took Tom Holland’s Joke Seriously
In an interview, the actor sat down with Jimmy Kimmel to talk about his experience of being the new Spider-Man. Recalling the experience, Holland stated that he used to joke a lot on the sets of the MCU movie. It started as a joke when Holland suggested that he should go undercover to a school.

Well, Marvel apparently took it seriously and the next thing he knew, Tom Holland was going with a fake ID, name, and accent to the Bronx School of Science. Talking about it, the actor revealed that he was quite terrified and that Marvel Studios did not understand his British sarcasm.
“So as a joke, I suggested to Marvel that I should go to a high school undercover. And it was completely a joke and Marvel took it completely seriously. I guess they didn’t get my British sarcasm.”

He further continued,
“The next thing I know, I was like…had a backpack with a pencil case on my way to Bronx school of science. I went to school with a fake name and fake accent. But yeah, and Bronx school of science is a school for geniuses. And I am no genius.”

Marvel does have a unique way of doing things since the studios decided to not even tell the teacher of the schools!Tom Hollandrevealed that he had another embarrassing moment with a pretty girl that sat next to her during class.

During the same school incident, Holland revealed that even the teachers were unaware that he was not a real student in their school. So the teacher asked the actor to come to the front of the class and introduce himself. Holland stated that he sat next to a pretty girl and she did not believe that Tom Holland was truly the actor portraying Spider-Man.
“I was sat at the back of the class room next to quite a pretty girl. Eventually she said ‘So, dude, what’s your deal man? I was like ‘Well,…do you wanna know my secret? I’m actually Spider-Man and she’s like ‘Dude, you’re nuts bro'”
The actor later went on to become quite an iconic person in the MCU and every person now knows who Tom Holland is. The actor was last seen inThe Crowded Roomand is available to stream on Apple TV+.
