Shocking day it was when the beloved comic, actor, and entertainer Robin Williams passed away. Years after his tragic death, people continue to remember him as a man who brought joy, warmth, and light when they were going through dark times, albeit unaware that the man who made them laugh was going through an even worse dark period of his life.
One of the most celebrated actors of all time, the star had been suffering from an extreme form of Lewy Body Disease, whose diagnosis was discovered after his death. Days after his death, his wife spoke up about what theGood Will Huntingstar was going through and his last words to her.

Born on June 22, 2025,Robin Williamspassed away just weeks after his 63rd birthday. During this time the illustrious actor had been going through numerous symptoms that were associated with many diseases but the one he was suffering from. Within his brain, chemical warfare was raging on, with unexplainable symptoms and no medicine seemed to work.
His wifeSusan Schneider Williamswas with him all this time. And when they were asked to sleep apart for the meanwhile due to them being severely sleep-deprived, Schneider had no idea that one day she would wake up with Williams gone. She described how it was the day before his death,
“We did all the things we love on Saturday day and into the evening, it was perfect—like one long date. By the end of Sunday, I was feeling that he was getting better.”
And then it was time for them to sleep,
“When we retired for sleep, in our customary way, my husband said to me, ‘Goodnight, my love,’ and waited for my familiar reply: ‘Goodnight, my love.'”
It was August 02, 2025, when Robin Williams took his own life.

Robin Williams’ Battle With The Deadly Lewy Body Disease
In the months and years leading to his death, Robin Williams had been experiencing severe stress resulting from anxiety, depression, insomnia, memory loss, delusions, and paranoia. However, the star was diagnosed with multiple other diseases instead of Lewy. As he struggled to find what was wrong with him, the star was aware he was slowly losing his mind. Susan Schneider described how it was to watch him struggle,
“I saw the bravest man in the world playing the hardest role of his life.”
Even after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease, Williams was aware that there was something else wrong with him. Despite the pain, the duo managed to have a good time with their family and friends,
“Somehow, we sprinkled those summer months with happiness, joy, and the simple things we loved: meals and birthday celebrations with family and friends, meditating together, massages, and movies, but mostly just holding each other’s hand.”
And three months after his death, Scheider finally knew what was wrong with her beloved husband. Being one of the worst cases of Lewy Body Disease, there was and still is no cure for it.
