There had been several rumors floating around in the past that anUltimate EditionofCyberpunk 2077would be launching soon. CD Projekt Red had also previously said it was planning a Game of the Year version forCyberpunk 2077,including the base game andPhantom Libertyexpansion. The developers have now finally revealed the cover art forCyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition, which is coming on December 5.

CDPR Reveals Cyberpunk 2077 Ultimate Edition Cover Art
Cyberpunk 2077was released to high hopes in 2020 but disappointed fans and critics alike due to game-breaking technical issues that made it feel like it was incomplete and was released prematurely. However, CD Projekt Red slowly redeemed itself as it brought several changes to the game with free updates and recently released Update 2.0, which completely revamped the game.
CD Projekt Red later released an expansion for the game calledPhantom Liberty, a spy-thriller story that brought several new things to the game, including a new district of the Night City, a powerful new skill tree, new missions, side quests, new weapons, vehicles, vehicular combat, and a variety of replayable open-world activities. All these new additions to the game madeCyberpunk 2077feel brand new compared to what players first experienced.

CD Projekt Red has nowrevealedthe cover art for theUltimate Edition, along with the release date and other details. TheUltimate Editionincludes the base game, the popularPhantom Libertyexpansion, and all the updates ever released, all in one package. It will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on December 5 in both digital and physical formats.
However, the PS5 version of the game will come with a code for the DLC, and for the Xbox Series, the code will come on the disc. The new version release will also have goodies that were previously released in the game as part of the“My Rewards”program, which will be available to all players if they register.

The cover art for theUltimate Editionlooks dope and features the infamous Johnny Silverhand, Judy Alvares, and Solomon Reed. Players appreciated how well CD Projekt Red turned around the game, which was initially a major flop. A player andX/Twitteruser stated:
This is now one of the best games available – it’s great. It’s taken a long time – but it’s fantastic to see what it should be, well done.

However, players have called out developers for not including the DLC with the disc and said that it should not be just for Xbox. X/Twitter userOnlyGoodGamesalso stated on X/Twitter that it just makes no sense whyPhantom Libertyis not included in the PS5 disc, and as much as they loveCyberpunk, they are not supporting this physical release.
Another user,Jtbrig1, said,“Can’t call it Ultimate Edition without Phantom Liberty being on disk.”NicksArtCornerwent on to share their disappointment and said this feels like a“slap to the face.”The post read:

But why make the DLC downloadable only on PS5, kinda backward if you ask me. I was so excited to buy the complete edition, and have supported y’all since day 1 and it kinda feels like a slap to the face honestly. I’m happy for Xbox users, but why couldn’t you do the same for PS5.
This might not end as a good move from CD Projekt Red, as the players would have loved the complete edition on disc, and they are already offended by its offering. All in all, the developers look to uphold the hype around the game after its revival, which once failed to impress players, and this rerelease is a great way to do so.
