For those unaware, Hans Zimmer is the biggest name in composing, potentially ever, with perhaps John Williams arguing for that title. That’s no disrespect to the other film and video game composers out there, but Hans Zimmer has such a diverse and well-known library of work that it’d be remiss not to at least mention it.

On the other hand, you have Secretlab, who, for what it’s worth, are arguably the largest and best gaming chair manufacturer producing right now. However, as good as they both are, a collaboration between the two wasn’t exactly top of everyone’s bingo cards, but that’s exactly what has happened.

Hans Zimmer is Effortlessly Cool

For better or worse, many people have a somewhat antiquated idea of what a composer should look like. I’ll say it right now, Hans Zimmer does not look, act or sound like you’d think. He is effortlessly cool.

During a segment on 60 Minutes, fans noticed that Hans Zimmer uses nothing other than the Dark Titan Evo, and admitted to having written the scores for bothTop Gun: MaverickandDunein that very chair. Fans loved the little nod to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy, and considered this further proof that Zimmer is a huge fan of the DC character, after composing the score for all three Nolan films.

Since being spotted using the chair, Hans Zimmer has made no secret of his love for Secretlab’s work, having admitted to not owning one, but two of the chairs, including one for his home studio, where he spends most of his time composing the scores of some of the biggest films.

“It’s the most modern-looking thing in my room, once you get used to the TITAN Evo, you don’t want to go and sit in another chair. Now everyone I know has this chair. Each composer close to me has one. Because we’ve discovered it’s phenomenally ergonomic for composing music, without fatigue or backaches,”Zimmer said. Not bad after he found the chair after perusing Amazon, and that’s one hell of a compliment, too.

Gaming-wise specifically, they also stock aCyberpunkrelated one, which considering the upcomingPhantom Libertyadd-on and the hype surrounding that, will no doubt be added on to many a gamer’s Christmas list.

Another recent and upcoming collaboration, this one much gorier, is the US-limitedMortal Kombat 1themed chair, which may not be covered in blood to the same level as the game’s fallen characters, but it certainly exudes the same attitude and feeling of them.
