Kathleen Kennedy’s Presidency Tenure Is Nearing Its End
After working with several acclaimed filmmakers in Hollywood, and producing a fair share of movies, Kathleen Kennedy became the president of Lucasfilm in 2012. Her position as the president of the company began after The Walt Disney Company acquired Lucasfilm for $4.2B.
Taking responsibility for her position, Kennedy oversaw the development, production, and release of projects under Lucasfilm. During her more than a decade-long tenure with the company, the 70-year-old famously produced theStar Warssequel trilogy.

While theStar Warsprojects produced underKathleen Kennedygained massive criticism, it thus appears as good news, since her presidency tenure is nearing its end. According to scooper WDW Pro, Kennedy’s tenure is ending in 2024, to which sources revealed, “Kathleen Kennedy will not be seeking a renewal or extension of her contract”.

Kathleen Kennedy Allegedly Denied Renewing Her Contract
Allegedly denying renewal or extension of her contract following its expiry in 2024, sources have revealed to WDW Pro, that Kathleen Kennedy is “not going to ride in on a black steed to Burbank.” They further added, “this is going to be handled through attorneys, through representatives on both sides. Take all of the craziness out of this. This works the way that business always does.”
Although the 70-year-old isn’t willing to extend her tenure after it was previously extended twice, she certainly has a few conditions. “She wants EPs and she wants Executive Producer credits on at least two theatrical releases going forward and she wants actual creative consultation rights. She wants to be on set for two future theatrical releases even after she potentially exits Lucasfilm” WDW Pro claimed.

According to sources’ alleged reports, Kathleen Kennedy isn’t willing to be a responsible part of Lucasfilm. However, she is very much looking forward to being on sets and attending premieres and dinners. While refusing to be the president of the company, Kennedy is willing “to try and stick around even if she’s transitioned out of her role”. Further, WDW Pro mentioned that Jon Favreau was offered the role of Creative Director at Lucasfilm.
