Steven Yeun starred alongside the ensemble cast of the post-apocalyptic horror dramaThe Walking Dead.Known for his bravery, quick thinking, and selflessness, his character, Glenn Rhee, soon becomes a prominent part of the group of survivors in the show, who help each other survive amid a zombie apocalypse from walkers and rival groups.
During one such sequence, Glenn, along with other members, is saved by Melissa McBride’s character, Carol Peletier. And Yeun’s father, who religiously followed his son’s show, asked him to thank his co-star for saving his life in the hit TV series.

Steven Yeun’s Father Insisted He Thank His Co-Star
The fifth season ofThe Walking Deadfeatures the Terminus conflict, where Glenn and Maggie, along with several other members of their group, break into Terminus. However, they end up being captured by a group of survivors who have become amoral cannibals.
Melissa McBride’s Carol Peletier comes to their rescue and is able to get Rick Grimes’ gang out of the facility. AndSteven Yeun, who played Glenn in the series, once shared a wholesome story involving the sequence and his father.
During an interview with National Public Radio, as perIMDb, the actor shared that his parents had followed up with his show. His parents, who emigrated from South Korea as adults, even managed to get a“bootlegged version with Korean subtitles”of the show.
He also shared that his father once asked him to thank his co-star McBride for saving his life in the series. Although he told his father that it was all for a show and none of it was real, he did express his gratitude toThe Mistactress after his father insisted.

Why Glenn Rhee Had To Die in the Season 7 Premiere
The Walking Deadhas featured some of the most gruesome deaths throughout its run. However, some of them left a mark on the show and its characters, one of them being Steven Yeun’s Glenn Rhee. The character is killed by Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan in the season 7 premiere episode.
His death is described as an essential catalyst for future stories of the show and some characters, including Rick, Maggie, and Daryl. He had been by Rick’s side since it all started. Glenn was his most trustworthy and dependable partner. Seeing him brutally killed fueled his hatred toward Negan and the Saviors.
Maggie is also believed to be impacted as she grows more powerful and more determined to survive. Daryl was also heavily affected by Glenn’s death, as it was his actions that led to such drastic consequences.
It is also claimed that Glenn’s death was essential for Negan’s character development, who goes on to become one of the major characters in the series. The 11-season series has since grown into a franchise, including several ongoing and upcoming shows.
