Starfieldis shaping up to be one of the biggest – if not the biggest – releases of 2023, both in size of the content and the importance of the title, for a multitude of reasons. Unfortunately though, with such popularity unfortunately comes the unscrupulous people that want to take advantage of the title and its fans.
We recently covered the scalping of the limited editionMarvel’s Spider-Man 2accessories, but now we’re revisiting the subject with theStarfieldConstellation Edition being the latest victim.

What’s in the Starfield Constellation Edition?
Originally announced during theStarfieldDirect event back in June, theStarfieldConstellation Edition is one of a long-line of premium collector’s editions for the biggest fans to purchase, if they want some seriousStarfieldmemorabilia.
Retail price for theStarfieldConstellation Edition was already a steep $299.99 so you can imagine how much the scalpers have it up for, but more on that later. The pricy edition comes with a LPV6 Chronomark Watch, a replica of an in-universe watch that players will use in the the game. The watch itself seems more of a prop than a modern timepiece, with some big disclaimers pointing out that it doesn’t have the bevy of features we’ve come to associate with smart watches these days. There’s no touch screen, doesn’t support making phone calls through it, and doesn’t seem to be protected from the elements. It can connect to your phone and display notifications though.

TheStarfieldConstellation Edition doesn’t stop there though, with it also including a watch case for that LPV6 Chronomark Watch, aStarfieldpatch featuring the game’s Constellation faction, and a limited edition steelbook case… that’ll stay empty, as the game itself is on a download code.
Regarding the game itself, you’ll gain five days of early access, a ‘Constellation Skins Pack’ and the first story expansionShattered Spacefor free upon its release, although that date is unknown currently. Lastly, you’ll also get access to the game’s soundtrack and a digital art book for your money.
Scalpers Love the Starfield Constellation Edition
Back on June 11th during theStarfieldDirect, the pre-orders for the Constellation Edition went live, and quite predictably, sold out within hours. Just like when the current-generation consoles first launched, and more recently theMarvel’s Spider-Man 2Limited Edition accessories went up for pre-order, it looks like scalpers have used their networks of bots to ensure they grabbed the majority of those pre-orders available.

A quick look at various e-commerce websites will show theStarfieldConstellation Edition available to be bought, but for a huge mark-up on that original $299.99 pricetag. The average seems to be anywhere between $450-$550, with some outliers going for even more, as shown below.
It does seem that for those who wanted to grab theStarfieldConstellation Edition at a fair price may well have missed out, unless you were one of the lucky ones at launch. That said, with previous launches likeFallout 4andFallout 76,Bethesda did restock their limited edition bundles, so it’d be surprising if they didn’t withStarfieldas well, but then the question becomes if we can beat the scalpers to the restocks.
