Sandra Bullock Looked Over Everything in Practical Magic
While talking to theNew York Post, Alice Hoffman, the author ofPractical Magic,revealed how when the book was being adapted into a movie, it wasSandra Bullockwho contributed to it the most. She explained as to how Bullock managed to be a part of every single department when she was making the movie with Nicole Kidman.
“I felt like she’s the reason that [it got] made — that she decided to do it and she made it happen. And because of her, everybody else was in. And she [was] involved with the music. She was involved with everything. She really made it happen.”

Not only was Bullock present with the music department, but it was her dedication to making the film a smashing success that made it possible in the first place. She put her blood, sweat, and tears into the making ofPracticalMagicand did not take any chances so as to ensure the perfection that was shown to the audience.

Sandra Bullock Called Alice Hoffman’s Son
When speaking with the New York Post, Alice Hoffman remembered how charming and kind Sandra Bullock had been. Due to her son’s age, Hoffman had restricted him from going on set. That was something he did not like at all. However, Bullock did not let him feel as if he was missing out.
“I don’t know how old he was at that time, but he was maybe 10 or 11. He couldn’t go on the set,”Hoffman added.“Sandra Bullock called him at the hotel and talked to him for an hour. [That says] everything about who she is and her generosity. That was kind of that personal moment for me that was the best part of the filming.”

The actress ended up calling Hoffman’s son to her hotel and talked to him for an hour. The writer was absolutely in awe after that as she made her son feel as if he were a part of the process.
