Things are not always as they appear on the big screen.Tobey Maguireand Charlize Theron, who played love interests in the 1999 romantic drama, are one of the examples of such a situation. While discussing his relationships onThe Howard Stern Show, he shared that it has been difficult for him to commit himself to a woman due to his busy schedule.

The discussion led Robin Quivers to question,“Did Charlize Theron even look at you in The Cider House Rules?”Adding to it the host of the show, Howard Stern asked him if there was something romantic going on with theMonsterstar while working together.

“I think she’s the hottest chick I’ve ever seen,”Howard Stern said. TheBabylonstar ended their curiosity as he shared that nothing romantic happened between them. He said,“She is very beautiful, and I did not know she had a boyfriend at the time.”

The Great Gatsbystar further said,“Not that that would have made a difference, but…we didn’t.”Robin Quivers burst into laughter after listening to his answer and said,“Now you may get her.”Maguire agreed with her saying that maybe now he could.

Charlize Theron Learned Different Things Working with Tobey Maguire

During an interview with V Magazine, Charlize Theron shared her experience working with Tobey Maguire onThe Cider House Rules. She shared that although she was not able to get along with Maguire during the film, they patched things up since.

“Every day [on set was] completely different for a completely different reason. Whether it’s the weather, or the writing isn’t there, or you don’t get along with your castmate, you have to be able to go to something else that’s just as powerful.”

Theron also shared that filming intimate scenes with each other was not an easy task for both of them.“We had some really intimate moments. Tobey and I didn’t feel that way about each other, so I had to figure something else out,”she said.

However, she shared that it helped her to learn different things.The Cider House Rulesreceived positive reviews and went on to win two Academy Awards. John Irving won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay and Michael Caine won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor.
