James Bondstar Daniel Craig is known for his exceptional skills in bringing enemies to justice in the five films that he did, starting fromCasino Royalein 2006 to the film that had his fate sealed in 2021’sNo Time to Die.
Talking to Hollywood’s most famous podcast creator, Josh Horowitz, Craig got candid about his career, his personal life, and the film that he starred in last year as Detective Benoit Blanc –Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
Craig has found immense success in the film industry, but the fans may not know one fact about the star that Horowitz brought up in the middle of a conversation that focused on his mother, Carol Olivia Craig.
As it turned out, his mother wanted to become an actor in her prime years as pointed out by Horowitz, and Craig admitted that he only found that out a decade ago.

Daniel Craig’s Mother Lived With A Secret Acting Dream
Craig pointed out that his family lived near the Liverpool area and that there weren’t many opportunities for acting in the region. London was the only place where an aspiring actor would have to go in order to explore possibilities.
He said that his mother lived with the secret that she never got to become a part of a highly prestigious drama school in London as she did not have the appropriate funding to do so.
Craig said on Josh Horowitz’sHappy Sad Confusedpodcast –
“She told me this about, maybe 10 years ago that she actually got to RADA [Royal Academy of Dramatic Art] when she was 18, which was incredible. Back in the day… she didn’t have any money to go so she couldn’t go.”
However, it may not be appropriate to say that his character James Bond’s skills fell short as his mother didn’t reveal it to him for the most part of his life.

Daniel Craig On Why His Mother Kept It A Secret
Having his own acting aspirations,Daniel Craigmentioned that the reason she didn’t break it to him was that it would dislodge him from his own path.
He said that the Liverpool area was in a state of depression and that his journey to London happened with a strange act initiated by his mother.
Further elaborating on theHappy Sad Confusedpodcast –
“I left school at 16, I was just a lost cause… but I wanted to act. My mother, kind of, kicked me out the door. I grew up in and around Liverpool and it was incredibly depressed like many places were. So, she said you’ve gotta go to London.”
