What Marvel Can Learn From DC?

Comic creators play a vital role in shaping the Marvel Universe, crafting intricate narratives, and designing visually striking characters. These visionary artists and writers invest countless hours, talent, and creativity into their work. It is only fair that their contributions are acknowledged and celebrated as the foundation upon which the MCU is built.

Jim Starlin, the comics creator behind Thanos expressed his view on how Marvel can take lessons from DC regarding giving due credit to its comic character creators.

“Was really surprised by how much I liked the new Flash movie! One terrific flick. I was especially pleased to see the creators of the Flash acknowledged early in the end credits instead of the way after the caterers and so many others. Wish the Marvel movies would do the same.”

By not acknowledging and properly crediting the original creators, a disservice is done to the very individuals who laid the foundation for Marvel’s success. This lack of recognition can discourage aspiring writers and artists and erode trust within the industry.

DC Movies: Honoring the Creative Minds Behind the Comics

Both Marvel Studios and DC Movies have made great progress when it comes to bringing comic book characters to life on the big screen. DC Movies does not share the same criticism leveled at Marvel Studios for failing to properly honor the creators of its comic books. The creators of DC’s renowned characters have consistently been given credit and honored.

In DC Movies, creator credits are prominently displayed, ensuring that the audience knows and appreciates the individuals who brought these characters to life in the comics. From the opening credits to the film’s promotional materials, DC Movies consistently acknowledges the writers, artists, and editors who have played a pivotal role in shaping the DC Universe.
