Major Spoilers ForLokiSeason 2

A still of Tom Hiddleston in Loki

LokiSeason 2 finally ended with Tom Hiddleston emerging victorious in turning the TVA into a more structured authority. With the multiverse finally reaching the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Loki became the wielder of the multiverse during the finale ofLokiSeason 2.

Brilliantly connecting and crafting Loki to his Nordic roots, the Marvel Cinematic Universe gave a nod to the Norse mythology from where the characters of Loki, Thor, Odin, and all the rest came. But the ending was somewhat confusing for the viewers so we are here to break it down for you.

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki outdid the first season!

Tom Hiddleston’s Loki Became The Wielder of the Multiverse

Diving into Norse mythology, Loki was associated with pain, torture, and the god of deceit. Having a strained relationship with the other gods, the god has been depicted as an anti-hero in ancient mythology.

Tom Hiddleston and Chris Hemsworth as Loki and Thor in Thor (2011).

This was beautifully crafted by the MCU sinceTom Hiddleston’sLoki was a villain in Phase One but turned to the good side over the years. With a character development so strong, season 2 of Loki sees the god feeling defeated and wanting to have his friends back when they are pulled from existence. In an epic finale, Loki feels that someone should oversee the varying timelines instead of He Who Remains’ way of securing a single timeline.

Taking the multiverse in the palm of his hands (quite literally), Loki steps on the throne at the End of Time to sit there and protect the multiverse. From this throne, emerges a great tree with its branches handling and working each timeline that has ever existed. Giving a beautiful nod to the Yggdrasil tree found in Norse mythology, Loki literally becomes the God of Stories at the finale ofLokiSeason 2.

During the finale of the MCU series, Loki becomes the wielder of Yggdrasil and it is his role to take care of the multiversal branches stemming from the tree. This was beautifully connected with the actual Norse mythology since Yggdrasil’s branches held the nine realms together with the World Tree at its center.

This brings a drastic change into the MCU since whatever timeline or multiverse gets disturbed, the effects will be directly observed on Yggdrasil going forward. In the future, it will be Kang vs Yggdrasil as the antagonist tries to alter the timeline and wreak havoc in the MCU.

With a grand finale,Lokireceived a rating of 8.2/10 and 87% on Rotten Tomatoes. With the MCU finally gaining traction and building up its universe once again, billions of fans now wait in awe as to how the events in the MCU will affect Loki. The iconic series is available to stream on Disney+ around the world.
