To start the Sand-Scarred Soul Event quest, you need to reachHunter Rank(HR) 9 or higher. Doing so isn’t particularly difficult as long as you’ve completed the entirety ofLow Rank. Once you complete the Low Rank, you’re automatically boosted to HR 8. From there, you simply need to complete the first main story quest of High Rank, which requires you tohuntandcaptureaYian Kut-Ku. Once you complete the Yian Kut-Ku quest, you’re boosted to Hunter Rank 9. After that, you’re able to simply talk toAlma(the Handler) in one of theBase CampsorPop-up Campsto accept the Event quest. If you’re already in High Rank’s endgame, you can simply talk to Alma to start the Event.

Tips To Easily Complete Sand-Scarred Soul Event Quest
The Sand-Scarred Soul Event sees you hunt a High Rank Doshaguma. Although Doushaguma isn’t a particularly challenging monster, it certainly isn’t a cakewalk either. While the quest unlocks at HR 9, we highly recommend attempting the Event after you hit HR 21. That way, you will have more flexibility when it comes to tweaking your build and creating something that can go toe-to-toe with the Doshaguma. The Doshaguma is extremely weak toFireblight. Furthermore, the monster is also very susceptible toParalysis. As such, weapons from monsters likeLala BarinaorRathalos, work really great against theFanged Beast.
Additionally, if you’re using a melee build, we highly recommend skills likeFlayer,Partbreak, andWeakness Exploit. In the final stretch of the battle, the Doshaguma gets enraged, which results in multiple wounds automatically appearing on its limbs and back. For completing the Sand-Scarred Soul Event, you’re rewarded with a small bounty ofHard Armor Spheresand Armor Decorations. Do note that completing the quest only rewards you with Level 2 Armor Decorations. For Level 3, i.e., endgame Armor Decorations, you have to use endgame Tempered Investigations and Wyvern Melding.
