It is, therefore, safe to say that the acclaimed actor has a resume that is embellished with several memorable and note-worthy endeavors. However, for a talent that has featured in perhaps 40–50 films, he must have at least a few that failed to match up to his expectations; pursuits that, if given the chance, would be erased by the actor from his diverse filmography. Recently, a conclusion to this matter was reached during Hugh Grant’s appearance onThe Late Late Show with James Corden.

Which Hugh Grant Film Is Chris Pine’s Least Favorite

Appearing on James Corden’s late-night talk show to promote their 2023 fantasy comedyDungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, actors Chris Pine andHugh Grantengaged in the notorious segment of ‘Spill Your Guts or Fill Your Guts.’ Here, the players of the game are usually required to answer truthfully when presented with a tricky, awkward, or challenging question. To save themselves from the embarrassment or the media sensationalism that their responses would generate, they are required to consume disgustingly unpalatable (yet miraculously edible) food items.

One of the questions asked early on was,“What’s your least favorite Hugh Grant movie?”The question was put forth by Grant himself, which put Pine in the spot. To avoid having to respond, the latter was required to ingest cattle testicles. If the barf-worthy thought of it made you squirm, just imagine whatChris Pinehad to go through.

Pine initially picking up the garnishing on the side of his horrifying dish reaped a disapproving gesture from Grant, who urged theDon’t Worry Darlingalum to commit to the bit. To refrain from having to consume the grotesque item, the 42-year-old actor queried,“Were you in You’ve Got Mail? Were you in that?”The audience alongside James Corden burst out laughing, as the film Pine was alluding to, while a rom-com, was not a Hugh Grant film.

When Pine realized that there was simply no escape, he chowed into the edible monstrosity. To say he was repulsed would be an understatement.“I can’t even begin to tell you what just squirted out of that,”remarked Corden, equally disturbed.

The Film Hugh Grant Wishes He Could Erase From His Career

Grant had to disclose which movie he would erase from his IMDb page during one of the turns that he had the misfortune of taking part in. If he opted to remain silent, he would have to eat a terrible concoction of shepherd’s pie with worms and mayonnaise. The actor confessed that he wouldn’t be reluctant to shed off his CV. To quote him,“I specialized in being bad for decades.”Owing to certain performances in his career that did not resonate with critics or audiences, Grant’s response does not come off as a surprise.“I got better!”added theNotting Hillalum, affirming self-assurance.

The star then revealed the conundrum he was faced with:

“As you know, as someone in the industry, it’s one thing to say I was bad, but I can’t bring down the rest of my wonderful colleagues who worked with me on any film by saying it was bad … that’s my dilemma.”

Ultimately, Grant answered,“The Lady and the Highwayman.”The film mentioned is a 1988 swashbuckling romantic adventure made for British TV. Here, the actor particularly detested the costume he had to adorn. He observed that it made him look like the cartoon character, Deputy Dawg.

Following was Hugh Grant’s comment:

“I’m a highwayman. I’m meant to be sexy. Low-budget, bad wig, bad hat, I look like Deputy Dawg. When I’m tense, I don’t know if this happens to you when you’re acting, my voice goes up two octaves. So, I, Deputy Dawg would come leaping out of trees when a carriage went past, and go, ‘Stand and deliver!’ It’s poor…”

With his honest acknowledgment, theMauricestar was successful in circumventing a terrible fate; ultimately saved from having to consume the unappetizing atrocity. Both Chris Pine and Hugh Grant starred in this year’sDungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieveswhich received both critical and general appreciation. With a 90% approval rating on RottenTomatoes, the film has become a must-watch and is available for streaming on Paramount+.
