According to revealed FTC court documents, Microsoft’s future plans include a mid-generation digital-only refresh for the Xbox Series X|S and a next-generation Xbox console. Additionally, it is introducing a controller code named “Sebile.”

Microsoft is reportedly working on three new Xbox consoles, including a disc-less Series X and a customizable model.

Microsoft had previously said that it wasn’t planning any mid-gen console updates like the Xbox One X from the previous generation. That’s not the case anymore because there’s a fresh batch of new consoles in the works, and they’re all about going digital.

First comes Ellewood, which is a snazzy makeover for the Xbox Series S, followed by Brooklin, a totally new disc-less version of the Series X. However, there’s also a third one called Uther, and it’s all about customization, thanks to the Design Lab. And all three consoles will come with a super-cool new controller called Sebile.

Xbox Series X and S get disc-less versions, a new Xbox console in 2028 with cloud hybrid games, and Xbox Game Pass gets a major boost.

Microsoft’s New Xbox Controller Sebile: Sustainable, Customizable, and Feature-Rich

The Brooklin model seems to be saying goodbye to the iconic fridge-like design and going for a sleek round or oblong tower look. It’s not just a pretty face either as it packs more storage, speedier Wi-Fi, less power consumption, a better controller, and a fresh design, along with great sustainability.

Speaking of the Sebile controller, it’s not your everyday game pad. Think an accelerometer for motion controls, haptic feedback that doubles as speakers, customizable thumb sticks, quieter buttons, and cool app features. But here’s the kicker: you can swap out the battery, it’s made with recycled materials, and it’s designed for easier repairs. Go green gaming!

When it comes to the prices of the leaked upcoming consoles, the disc-less Xbox Series X and S will hit the market at the same launch prices as their disc-loving counterparts: $499 for the X and $299 for the S, which aims to make gaming a little more affordable.

Moreover, there is a completely brand-new console coming out in 2028 as well, which focuses on “cloud hybrid games,” a mix of local and cloud-based gaming. Players willbe able to play the latest games with high-end graphics without worrying about storage space. Furthermore, development kits might drop in 2027, hinting at a thrilling launch the following year.

That’s not all because Game Pass is also getting a major boost with more games and some slick features. Players will be able to stream their favorite games on their mobile devices as well, fully embracing the potential future of gaming.
