AsGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3just got out in the theaters, the fans are totally in awe after watching Chukwudi Iwuji portraying one of the best MCU villains yet. The MCU was in search of an absolute maniac to pit against Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. While they picked Jonathan Majors to play Kang as the next big baddie, the recent events were a big blow to the actor’s career and presents a large question mark on his future as Kang the Conqueror.
Following Jonathan Majors’ arrest due to allegations of domestic violence, there’s no certainty if he would return to play the character. But after witnessing the fantastic performance of Chukwudi Iwuji as the High Evolutionary in James Gunn’s Guardians threequel, fans are demanding that Kevin Feige cast him as the new Kang.

Can Chukwudi Iwuji be the next Kang?
It can’t be denied that James Gunn’s writing and the terrific performance by Chukwudi Iwuji made High Evolutionary easily one of the top three MCU villains. Some fans even praised the villain to be more menacing than all the appearances of Kang combined. His aura took no time to raise immense hatred among the fans. This led to many fans demanding the studio make some changes, and turn him into the next Kang the Conqueror.
With the concept of Variants being a very large aspect of the MCU, it’s not so difficult for the makers to turn Iwuji’s High Evolutionary into a Kang Variant. Projects likeSpider-Man: No Way HomeandLokishowed that it’s not mandated for the variants to share a common appearance. Moreover,Jonathan Majors‘ managing company dropping him also shows that the future does not look good for theAnt-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniaactor.
Presently, Kang the Conqueror has to be a top priority for the studio in their journey to set up the colossal events ofAvengers: Kang DynastyandSecret Wars.Although they are yet to get a final decision, it is highly unlikely that Majors can return to such an important role after his name got involved in such a major legal drama.

It is no lie that the criticisms surrounding the lack of a proper villain since Thanos have seen a surge in recent times. While the studio was all set to set up Kang the Conqueror, the ardent comic book fans along with the moviegoers didn’t find him as quite a menacing force as expected. Now will be a good time for the studio to rethink its decision, as Chukwudi Iwuji can be a good choice to play the time-traveling tyrant.

Now we can only hope for the studio to give any update on Kang the Conqueror fast.

On the other hand, Chukwudi Iwuji can be spotted tormenting our beloved Guardians inGuardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.Rocket Raccoon’s dark past with the character is also one of the most emotional and important parts of the movie. High Evolutionary’s presence in the latest movie is undoubtedly one of the prime reasons why the last ride for the Guardians turned out to be such a memorable one.
