The fourth installment in theJohn Wickfranchise seems to be soaring high in the sky with glowing reviews from the audience and critics alike. Not to mention, the Keanu Reeves-led film is estimated to gross anywhere around $65-$70 million domestically for its opening weekend.

With flawless cinematography, remarkably unforgettable action scenes, and a gripping plot that leaves an indelible imprint on you,John Wick: Chapter 4is a cinematic feast. It’s next to impossible to pick any faults from the movie, besides the fact that it’s nearly three hours long, the only aspect of the action blockbuster that seems to have bothered the audience just a tad bit.
Chad Stahelski, however, had the perfect response to people lamenting about his film’s long duration.

Chad Stahelski Chastises Fans for Complaining AboutJohn Wick 4‘s Duration
In a new interview with Discussing Film,Chad Stahelski, who helmedJohn Wick: Chapter 4, addressed the subject of people whining over his film’s runtime, claiming how they seem to have no objections when they end up binge watching an entire season of a television show in one sitting.
“I have to stand up for my movie!”Stahelski remarked when the question ofJohn Wick 4being 2 hours and 49 minutes long came up. The credits alone constitute about 10-12 minutes of the runtime since they shot the Lionsgate film in five different countries.

While the latest addition to theJohn Wickfranchise has only been rewarded with stellar reviews so far, there have been some who have grumbled about the movie’s duration, to which Stahelski, 54, had only one thing to say,
“These are the same people that will go and binge a whole season of television on a Sunday afternoon.”

“I think myself and again, you have [Christopher] Nolan and [James] Cameron, like come on, really? Everybody goes out and watches three seasons of TV on a Sunday, or they will watch whole five episodes of Game of Thrones at night. And because you’re on your couch that makes it different?”
He’s not wrong either. There have been plenty of films that have had a runtime of two, even three hours. James Cameron’s blockbuster sequelAvatar: The Way of Waterwent on for 3 hours and 12 minutes, whereasThe Batmanstarring Robert Pattinson was stretched till 2 hours and 56 minutes. Even MCU’sAvengers: Endgamewas as long as 3 hours. So,John Wick 4wouldn’t be the first film to have a lengthy runtime.
