And while it may not look like the aforementioned case at first, upon closer inspection, people may start to connect the dots. The road to stardom that Lawrence took wouldn’t have been possible if the circumstances were right, and the actress was chosen for this role instead of Blake Lively, who is most popular today for playing it.

Jennifer Lawrence Almost Stole The Role Of Serena From Blake Lively InGossip Girl

Most popular for playing the role of Katniss Everdeen fromThe Hunger Gamesfranchise as well as Mystique from theX-Menfranchise, Hollywood sensationJennifer Lawrenceis known today as one of the biggest stars in the industry, and for very good reason. Seeing as she makes some of the most successful films, both commercially and critically, it’s no wonder that she’s regarded as the best of the best. But this might not have been the case if actressBlake Livelyhadn’t been chosen in her stead for the role of Serena inGossip Girl.

On the 10th anniversary of the show, showrunner Josh Schwartz revealed that since the literary works by Cecily von Ziegesar from which the show was adapted were such a popular and beloved series of books, they had to make sure to nail the casting for Serena. While at first, they thought of choosing the face of the character through conventional means of auditioning, what gravitated them toward theSavagesstar was the response of the fans of the books, who wanted to see Lively in the role of Serena due to her previous work inThe Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

But before she was finalized, Lawrence had already given her auditions for the role of Serena. Since the popularity of these books was through the roof at the time, it was a no-brainer for anyone to not miss being part of such a highly anticipated show. But in the end, theNo Hard Feelingsstar wasn’t selected for the part. But that too, came with its own merits, because if she was indeed selected, then she wouldn’t have been part ofThe Hunger Games, the franchise that made her into one of the biggest stars in the film industry as she would’ve been stuck doing indie films and TV shows.
