Before taking on the role of Maxwell Lord alongsideGal Gadot’sWonder Woman,Pedro Pascalportrayed the character of Ed Indelicato in an unaired pilot episode for the television seriesWonder Woman.Written by David E. Kelley and directed by Jeffrey Reiner, the pilot featured Adrianne Palicki in the title role alongside Tracie Thomas and Pascal.
Talking about the show, the 48-year-old actor shared that“it was like a dream come true”for him as he was aware of David E. Kelley’s work and influence at the time. Pasca also shared that he hoped that the series would help improve his financial condition, as he believed that it would get picked up. He toldVariety,
“David E. Kelley’s influence on television when I was freshly out of college was so huge, and I watched every episode of “Friday Night Lights.” I also thought that whether it was good or not, it would definitely get picked up.”
However, contrary to his expectations, it did not get picked up, and he had to go back to making appearances in TV shows likeCSI. He also claimed that he had a“pretty bad year”after the show was rejected. The actor has also said in an interview that he was devastated after it was canceled.

Pedro Pascal Forgot He Featured in AnotherWonder WomanProject
Pedro Pascal has shared that he almost forgot that he portrayed Wonder Woman’s liaison to the LAPD, Ed Indelicato, in the canceled pilot. When asked if the makers ofWonder Woman 1984knew that he was featured in the unaired pilot, he toldVariety,“It didn’t actually occur to me, which is kind of crazy.”
In a conversation withEntertainment Weekly, he shared that getting cast in the 2011Wonder Womanpilot was also great news for him, and he was“devastated it didn’t get picked up.”While his first attempt to star in a DC project alongside the Amazonian warrior did not work out, a canceled pilot with Patty Jenkins was the reason he got the role of Maxwell Lord in the 2020 movie.
He shared that he worked with the filmmaker on a pilot of a feature called “Exposed,” which was also not picked up. While he didn’t expect to see Jenkins again, the filmmaker remembered him and offered the role to him while working on the sequel to the blockbuster DC film.
