Jason Momoa found worldwide fame after portraying the role of Khal Drogo in the iconic HBO seriesGame of Thrones.The series became a cultural phenomenon and every iconic actor found their career breakthrough with this series.

With Khal Drogo being a Dothraki warlord, Momoa had to speak Dothraki (a made-up language inGame of Thrones).This led people to actually believe that Jason Momoa cannot speak English!

Portraying the role of the Dothraki horse lord in Season 1 ofGame of Thrones,the character went on to marry a young Daenerys Targaryen. Traveling alongside her through the city of Vaes Dothrak, Khal Drogo eventually kills Daenerys Targaryen’s brother and vows to fight for his wife by crossing the narrow sea.

Dying just before the season finale of the first season ofGame of Thrones,Jason Momoafound himself out of work once more. In an interview with Jimmy Fallon onThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, the actor talked about his iconic role and the stupid and yet hilarious reason, Hollywood didn’t offer him any more roles after the HBO series!

“Not a lot of people thought I spoke English. You’re not gonna put him [Drogo] in a comedy. You’re not gonna put him in a romantic. You’re pigeon-holed. I met Fred Armisem, and my stepdaughter did‘Portlandia’. And he was so excited to meet me.”

The actor further continued,

“And then he was like ‘I didn’t even know you spoke English’. It was heartbreaking. I was like ‘That’s why I’m not getting any jobs'”.

But that’s not true after all as Momoa found another iconic role for his career. The actor portrayed the role of Aquaman in Zack Snyder’s DCEU and continued to be a part of James Gunn’s DCU which gave him plenty of fame (and English dialogues) for the people to know.
