As perThe Lost Citystar, he was very enthusiastic about getting a role in Quentin Tarantino’s movie, and say it his dedication and passion, he went to lengths to secure one. The actor was so eager to get the role, that he drove away all his competitors by sending threatening emails to them. Tatum shared inThe Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,

“I basically sent about an email a day for about a month just threatening any other actors that might be up for the role. I was just praying that no one really tough was up for the role.”

The Vowactor further joked that he was happy thatQuentin Tarantinodidn’t say names like Mike Tyson was in consideration. It is because he had sent emails challenging them to brutal fights to work with the famed director.

“So, it was definitely nerve-racking. Even the table read was nerve-racking, man. [Samuel L. Jackson] was the only person who I’d worked with before. I met Kurt [Russell] very quickly one time. And that’s really it.”

The actor was received with delight by the cast members, which boosted his confidence on the shoot, as he did not expect to get the role at all. He shared,

“I was shocked, to be honest. Because I really didn’t think it was gonna happen. The part, I think, was written for someone a little older. And I think Quentin kind of had to have some time to figure out if he could make it work with some of the other characters.”

The Hateful Eight, a 2015 released mystery thriller film, was written and directed by Quentin Tarantino. Its cast includesSamuel L. Jackson, Kurt Russell, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Walton Goggins, Demián Bichir, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen, and Bruce Dern. They are eight strangers who get stuck in a blizzard in a stagecoach stopover, right after the American Civil War phase. Quentin Tarantino’s film was a huge success and grossed $151 Million worldwide.
