After years of speculation surrounding the highly anticipated Barbie film, Margot Robbie was confirmed as the actress to portray the iconic doll in 2019. The project’s announcement initially surfaced in 2014, with Amy Schumer originally cast in the lead role.

However, Schumer later withdrew from the project citing creative divergences and scheduling conflicts. But some fans might not be happy with her casting for the role.

“Margot Robbie is mid.”

Let me explain something to everyone: Sadly, this country is filled with miserable people who hate how their lives turned out. They’re not here for funny jokes. They’re here cause it’s an outlet to spread misery if you want it to be.
Block and move on.

Many have suggested that Margot Robbie’s casting as Barbie is a decision made by the filmmakers and production team based on various factors, including her talent and suitability for the role. And it’s important to appreciate and celebrate diversity in casting choices, as beauty and attractiveness can be subjective and multifaceted.
Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie’s co-star portraying Ken in the film, shared heartfelt details about how Margot aided him in getting into character. Gosling disclosed that Robbie surprised him daily on set by leaving him a thoughtful gift adorned with a pink bow.

Margot Robbie Wasn’t The First Choice For The Role
During an interview with Vogue, Margot Robbie disclosed that Gal Gadot was strongly considered for the lead role inBarbiebefore Robbie ultimately landed the part. Robbie shared that both herself and director Greta Gerwig initially envisioned Gadot as the ideal choice to embody the iconic character, emphasizing that Gadot exuded genuine “Barbie energy” that resonated with them.
“Because Gal Gadot is so impossibly beautiful, but you don’t hate her for being that beautiful because she’s so genuinely sincere, and she’s so enthusiastically kind that it’s almost dorky. It’s like right before being a dork”.
Margot Robbie unveiled that Gal Gadot, despite being a strong contender for the role, could not join the movie due to her unavailability to commit to the part during that period. Prior to Gadot’s potential involvement, it was initially announced in 2016 that Amy Schumer would headline Sony’s live-action Barbie film.
Amy Schumer disclosed, in March 2017, that she regretfully had to withdraw her involvement from the project due to unavoidable scheduling conflicts a mere four months after the initial announcement.
Barbiewill be released in theaters on July 21.
