Cavill was last seen reprising his role of Superman in the post-credit scenes ofBlack Adam. James Gunn’s Future Plans For Superman
The exit of Cavill does not halt the storyline of Superman under new co-CEOs management.James Gunnhas announced the upcoming story and his aspiring plans for Superman’s return to the DCEU. Gunn shared that the new storyline will follow the early story arc of Superman. Gunn will serve as the screenwriter for the upcoming project, whereas no director or actor has yet been finalized. The upcoming movie will be a part of the future slate for the franchise. As per Gunn’s statement, the new Superman will be a young face who can carry forth the storyline in the future while meeting the characteristics of the legendary superhero character.

Even though Wolfgang Novogratz has not been officially confirmed as the new Superman.
