Mark Wahlberg Wants to Forget His Infamous Photoshoot With Kate Moss

BeforeMark Wahlbergbecame one of the highest-paid actors in the world, he was known as the brother of the bandNew Kids on the Block’s secondary vocalist Donnie Wahlberg. Mark Wahlberg was initially a part of the band when his brother started it but soon left, after which the other members joined in.

Wahlberg then began his music career when he adopted the stage name Marky Mark and formed a hip-hop group called Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. The group had two hit singles namelyGood VibrationsandWild Side. Both songs were chart toppers, with the former even earning the top spot in the Billboard Top 100.

While he was enjoying the fame that the band brought him, he became the face of Calvin Klein with his infamous photoshoot. The actor posed as an underwear model along with Kate Moss in a photoshoot which saw them both topless. Wahlberg became an actor right after the campaign and it was widely believed that it was the reason for his acting career to take off.

Wahlberg, however, seemed to regret the photoshoot when he appeared on the talk showFriday Night with Jonathan Ross. When asked about the campaign and if it led to his acting career, he said,

“I try to forget that too…I don’t think too many serious producers and directors would see that and say, ‘Well that guy looks like a serious actor. Maybe we’ll use him to walk by with his pants down.’”

Mark Wahlberg may regret the photo shoot and want to forget it, but not as much as Kate Moss.

Kate Moss Hated Modelling With Mark Wahlberg

Mark Wahlberg was featured in the infamous photoshoot by Herb Ritts along with a young Kate Moss in 1992. The Calvin Klein photoshoot saw both Wahlberg and Moss pressing against each other while being topless. Moss was reportedly either 17 or 18 at the time while Mark Wahlberg was 21.

Kate Mossrevealed in an interview withVanity Fairthat the photo shoot was a nightmare for her as she felt that Wahlberg was uncomfortable with her figure. Moss was one of the models who made the ‘size-zero’ trend famous.

Moss also mentioned that she had severe anxiety after the shoot. She said,

“I had a nervous breakdown when I was 17 or 18 when I had to go and work with Marky Mark and Herb Ritts. It didn’t feel like me at all. I felt really bad about straddling this buff guy…I couldn’t get out of bed for two weeks. I thought I was going to die.”

Moss also mentioned that it got so bad that she went to the doctor who prescribed her Valium and that she did not like the work she was doing at the time.
