With the inevitable end of Phase 4 of the MCU, the cinematic universe now prepares itself to enter into Phase 5 of the franchise, where an even bigger threat awaits the Avengers as well as every other superhero in the known universe and beyond, and that threat, or threats, happens to be Kang The Conquerer. With the introduction of the He Who Remains in the season finale ofLoki, the next big bad of the franchise was revealed.

Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains in Loki

And with the upcoming release ofAnt-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania,we will get familiar with just how dangerous the villain can be as the trailers of the upcoming movie suggests. But the writer of the upcomingAvengers: The Kang Dynastyis not too excited about it, especially whenEndgamehas already advertised the plot of time travel to the degree where he had to work a lot harder to bring the supervillain into the MCU.

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty Writer Was Unhappy With Endgame’s Time Travel

After the introduction of Jonathan Majors as He Who Remains in the season finale of Disney+’sLoki, the revelation came to light, that the Knag sitting in front of Loki and Sylve was just a benevolent variant of his ruthless counterparts, and that killing him would unleash hell upon the universe. Despite these warnings, Sylve kills He Who Remains, and we see how the universe shifts into something that they are unfamiliar with within a flash. Now, the threat of a dangerous and threatening variant of Kang will soon make its appearance in the upcoming Phase 5!

But the arrival of the omnipotent supervillain into the grand scheme of the MCU was a challenge, which was made even more complicated with the Time Heist inEndgame.the writer for the upcomingAvengers: The Kang DynastyandQuantumaniaJeff Loveness has revealed that he was bummed out because Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and Robert Downey Jr.’s made it complicated for him to introduce Kang into the MCU as the proposed Time Heist inEndgame, which made it a necessity for him to broaden his backstory to exceptional proportions. In the interview withSFX Magazine,he said:

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty

“I haven’t seen a time-travelling character done with such intricacy and exploration. I’m a little bummed because ‘Endgame’ did so much time travel, so you almost need to broaden him out a little bit too, maybe broaden out into the multiverse a little more, the dimensionality of the character, the limitless freedom he has while also being completely uprooted from his time and himself. Is it just going to all fall apart again because another version of him can destroy it as well? What’s the purpose of building Rome if you are going to burn it down the next day, because they want to have their own Rome?”

Thus, we now have to travel to the Quantum Realm in the upcoming Ant-Man movie, where Kang will be officially introduced to the MCU.
