Sacha Baron Cohen is undeniably one of the greatest and most renowned comedians in the industry. A brilliant actor best known for his superhit comedy/mockumentaryBorat,his other super famous works include his all-time best and one of the biggest hits of all time, the political satire television seriesWho Is America? (2018).
In fact, in the last episode of the show, he confronted former actor O.J. Simpson with cameras hidden in the room. If that wasn’t enough, Baron Cohen even trained with a real FBI interrogator just to get Simpson to confess to his alleged murder charges!

Sacha Baron Cohen is a hilarious comedian and even a terrific actor. Appearing on theComedy Actors Roundtable conducted by The Hollywood Reporter, he shared the story of how he went to extremes to get O.J. Simpson to confess to his alleged crimes on the last episode of his show,Who Is America?
Simpson was alleged of having murdered his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend Ronald Goldman back in 1994, and was acquitted in 1995 as he pleaded not guilty. Thus, Baron Cohen made it his aim to get the former actor to spit out the truth. TheBoratstar revealed:
“I had an absurdly ambitious aim which was to get O.J. [Simpson] to confess. I shot that right at the end of the show – and I had achieved some things I was surprised by – so I never thought that a politician would get his buttocks out and charge, I never. That’s why I thought I’d go, ‘Could I?’ Well, he can’t get wrecked because once he gets wrecked then he’s violating the terms of his parole. So, I did try to, but I still ended up with an FBI interrogator.”
He further went on to admit why he decided to do it.
“Because I thought – and again, this reaching too high, but – I thought, let me try it because it was hidden camera. I thought, would he, if he’s ever going to admit it, it would be in a hotel room where he thinks he’s gonna earn a lot of money.”
Although he aimed super high and even went to extremes just to getO.J. Simpsonto confess to his charges, did Sacha Baron Cohen actually succeed?

Did Sacha Baron Cohen End Up Getting O.J. Simpson’s Confession?
Continuing on theComedy Actors Roundtable by The Hollywood Reporter, Sacha Baron Cohen then shared his experience of training with the ‘supposedly’ greatest FBI interrogator. He said,
“So, I trained up with supposedly the greatest FBI interrogator, and eventually he just goes, ‘Who’s this for?’ And I go, ‘It’s for O.J.’ He goes, ‘That’s gonna be tough, but okay.’ And then he sort of trained me up.”
However, all his dedication, commitment, and hard work went down the drain, considering how – even though Simpson didn’t know about the hidden cameras – O.J. Simpson still didn’t admit to any of the allegations that he was charged with.
“I didn’t manage to get him to confess to the [allegations]. Well, the FBI have a way with people who are finding it hard to confess to actually get them to admit to stuff. So there is a sequence that I’d memorized to try and get O.J. to [confess], but it failed.”
Though he couldn’t manage to get Simpson to own up to his alleged crimes, on a better note,Sacha Baron Cohendid end up making his showWho Is America?a brilliant superhit series among audiences worldwide.
