Very recently Amber Heard has been speaking out in her first interview since the verdict was released in her exclusive defamation trial. The actress said she doesn’t “blame” the jury for favoring her ex-husband Johnny Depp and exclaiming the social media content surrounding the case.

In a preview of the actress, a sit-down interview with Savannah Guthrie Savannah on Monday NBC’s “TODAY” show claimed that the actress said, “I don’t blame them.” Speaking about the trial’s verdict. She said:

“I actually understand. He’s a beloved character and people feel they know him. He’s a fantastic actor.”

The actress repeatedly called out the social media frenzy covering her case “unfair” as many posts on TikTok and Twitter appeared to favor Johnny Depp during the six-week trial. The TikTok hashtag “Justice for Amber Heard” received around 27 million views and if we compare this with Johnny Depp, is rated at 20 billion views.

She continued:

“I don’t care what one thinks about me or what judgments you want to make about what happened in the privacy of my own home, in my marriage, behind closed doors. I don’t presume the average person should know those things. And so I don’t take it personally.”

“But even somebody who is sure I’m deserving of all this hate and vitriol, even if you think that I’m lying, you still couldn’t look me in the eye and tell me that you think on social media there’s been a fair representation.”

Johnny Depp was not in court for the verdict due to a formerly scheduled work agreement, and sued for $50 million in harm over a 2018 op-ed essay by his ex-wife in The Washington Post, in which she portrayed that she had become a public image representing domestic abuse. The Aquaman actress also sued Johnny Depp for $100 million, a lawsuit focused around three statements made by Johnny Depp’s former lawyer Adam Waldman in 2020 to the Daily Mail. He described his ex-wife’s statements of abuse as a “hoax.”
