As Angelina Jolie’s character in the film pretended to fall in love with a wealthy man, played by Antonio Banderas, the two share an intimate moment together. However, no matter how steamy the scene might have looked like on your screens, reality tells a different story. Antonio Banderas opened up about the technicalities of filming a love scene with Angelina Jolie and how he didn’t even touch his co-star.

In a 2007 interview with Daily Mail,Antonio Banderastalked about what it was like filming a love scene withAngelina Joliefor the 2001 movie. He compared the whole thing to doing a scene where you pretend to fall off a horse, while of course, the fall is nothing but fake. The same goes for the intimate scene inOriginal Sin.Banderas stated,
“Doing a sx scene with Angelina Jolie was the same as doing a scene where I have to fall off a horse. You have to make it look real, but it just isn’t. We had to do a very intense sx scene in Original Sin but, of course, it’s nothing like the way it looks on screen.”
He then continued that the scene was not as hot in real life as it looked like on the screen. Why? Well, since Jolie had a ton of tattoos, the make-up artists had to cover them up with make-up. Owing to this, Banderas wasn’t allowed to touch his co-star in fear of ruining the artists’ work. He also added that there were people changing the placement of their hands and fixing their hair every few seconds.
“I couldn’t touch her, because she had tattoos everywhere and they had to be covered with make-up, so I had to try not to dislodge it. And when there are 150 guys around you and every 20 seconds they shout ‘Cut’ and then mess with your hair and the positioning of your arms, it’s not s*xy at all.”
In fact, the chemistry between Banderas and Jolie looked so raw on-screen that people started assuming that an affair was going on between the two. However, Jolie slammed the allegations shut and talked about how both of them were in loving relationships.

At one point or the other, both Jolie and Banderas have spoken about the rumors that were making rounds about their affair. At that time, Banderas was married toMelanie Griffithand Jolie toBilly Bob Thornton. In an interview with Biography magazine, theSpy Kidsactor stated,
“Nothing could be farther from the truth. Angelina is so in love with Billy Bob Thornton, and I am so in love with my wife, that it is impossible – there is no room for that.”
Even Jolie stood up for both their real-life relationships when she told ABC News that it was absolutely insulting to assume that she and Banderas had something sinister going on behind closed doors.
“You’re talking about a man who is deeply in love with his wife, and married, he has beautiful children with her, and they’re such a great family. And I’m madly in love with my husband, we have such a great relationship, and the idea that either one of us would, would want anything more than our marriages is really insulting and angering.”
So there you have it! It doesn’t matter how steamy the love scenes are or how incredible the chemistry is between the two actors, it is not right to put such allegations on them. After all, they are real people with real feelings, right?
