Why did Wolverine’s Healing Ability Fail inLogan?

Hugh Jackmanas Wolverine is undoubtedly one of the best castings ever done in the history of superhero movies. Jackman did a tremendous job of capturing the essence of the character on the big screen. Keeping that in mind, it was tough to bid farewell to the character in 2017.

As we mentioned earlier, Wolverine died due to his healing ability, being unable to keep up with the injuries that he sustained in the movie set in 2029. However, that isn’t the only reason.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine X-Men: Days of Future Past

For years, one of Logan’s strongest abilities was his skeleton being coated in Adamantium. It essentially allowed Wolverine to wreak havoc without worrying about the consequences because it increased his durability.

However, the unseen aftereffect of being coated in Adamantium was a slow yet painful failure of his healing factor due to metal poisoning. InLogan,Jackman’s character instantly became old as he had white hair, weak muscles, and red lines stemming from his wounds. These are undoubtedly the symptoms of metal poisoning.

Apart from metal poisoning, Logan was most likely also the victim of Xander and Transigen’s poisoning plan that suppressed the X-Gen in mutants around the world. If it weren’t for Wolverine’s insane healing ability, he would have lost his mutant abilities much sooner than he actually did.

In the end, the combination of metal poisoning and Xander’s poison ultimately stripped Wolverine of his powers inLoganas the character’s 200 years of misery finally came to an end.
