How to add music to a Snapchat post or story
Adding music to your Snapchat is a great way to liven up your pictures and videos on the app — but it can be confusing if you don’t know how to do it.
If you use apps like Instagram and TikTok, you may frequentlyadd music to your postsusing the features available within the apps.
Fortunately, you also have the option to do this onSnapchat, as users have the opportunity to add music to their story posts or videos on the app, and doing so is simple.
How to add music to a Snapchat
Snapchat users can add music to their posts right from within the Snapchat app, so make sure you have it downloaded, and that you’re logged into your account. Then, just follow these simple steps:
Step 1: Create a post then tap the music button
The first thing you need to do is open the Snapchat app and create a post. You can either take a photo or a video directly in the app, use Snapchat Memories, or upload them from your phone.
When you’re happy with the post, tap on the music button. It’s one of the white icons to the right of the screen.
Step 2: Pick a song
After you’ve opened the music page, you get to choose what song you want to add. If you know exactly what song you want, you’re able to search for it in the search bar at the top of the screen.
If you want some inspiration, Snapchat has some themed playlists you can choose from. At the bottom of the screen, you can also find a list of popular songs available. When you find the song you want, just tap on it to add it to your post.

Step 3: Edit the music sticker
The song you picked will be added to your post as a sticker. You will be taken back to the post when you’ve picked a song and you’ll be able to choose exactly how it’s shown on your post. You have three options to pick from with how the sticker will appear on the post.
At the bottom of the screen, you can edit what part of the song you want to be played. When you’re happy with your choices, you can go ahead and post the post on your story or share it with your friends and followers on the app.
