DC studio’s 2022 slate has been clumsy at every step and releasing the actor from the role within 2 months led to a position of grief and resentment among fans. As fans were bewailing about the loss, there might be some hope left for Henry Cavill to wear the cape again.

The new DCU will not be a complete reboot

Henry Cavill can still return as Superman in the future DC

And with his further emphasis on a young Clark Kent plotline at the beginning of his universe alongside sharing different ingredients from his long-planned vision through his social media handles, with one prominent being the emphasis on theKingdom Comestoryline, a Mark Waid’s 1996 comic, where the older generation of DC superheroes find themselves battling their younger incarnation, and the reports inclining that the new DCU won’t be a complete reboot, furthermore provides some strong speculations on an Elseworld storyline, where Henry Cavill can finally reprise his role as an older Superman which battles with the mainline DCU’s younger Clark Kent.
Although the speculations seem far-fetched, as all the secrets are locked in James Gunn’s castle doom, joining the above dots create a valid debate about the return of Henry Cavill as an Elseworld Superman in thekingdom comestoryline, which if resides within Gunn’s vision for DC, it’s still far away, considering the initial phases won’t try to skip steps as the early DCEU did and pave out a more thorough and smooth path.
