In a candid interview, Harrison Ford revealed that Tom Clancy was not pleased with him portraying Jack Ryan in the sequel to the 1990 submarine spy thriller. According to his bombshell revelation, the actor claimed that Clancy thought he was too old to play the character, as Ford was 50 years old when he received the offer to work in the movie.

TheSix Days, Seven Nightsmovie star told People magazine, “Tom Clancy never liked me in the part,”adding, “He thought I was too old, and I think he had other objections, but I don’t remember what they were.”

”I thought if I didn’t use my license to do action-adventure, then pretty soon it wouldn’t be viable.”
