We often hear the rags to riches story being told through books and through the voices of people who made it to the top, and that story is something that inspires us to do the same. Stories of major Hollywood stars like Arnold Schwarzenegger are especially well-known and talked about since he is one of the most famous actors who defied all odds to become what he is today.

In fact, with his success, he reached heights that most could only dream of, and continued to soar past everyone else in the race. But when it comes down to it, even he knows that he wasn’t alone through this journey, which he reflected when he posted a recent picture on his Instagram after one of the people he owed his success to passed away.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Mourns The Loss Of His Friend Who Made Him Conan The Barbarian

There is this term called “Self-Made Man” that people usually reserve for the people who have nothing and no one beside them to help in the tough times, and through sheer will, they find the inner strength to climb the ladders of success on their own. And who better to take as an example than bodybuilding legend and action starArnold Schwarzenegger, the man who achieved everything the world had to offer. But even he recalls people who shaped him into the man he is, and one of them happened to be Kiyoshi Yamazaki.

Taking a step back and looking at the past, the film that brought the actor on the radar of the Hollywood industry was 1982’s action filmConan The Barbarian, where he played the role of the titular protagonist. One of the most challenging things in this film was his sword fights, which were honed to perfection by Yamazaki Sensei. As theTerminatorstar wrote on his Instagram, he honored the legacy of his esteemed teacher and dear friend, saying:

“He was a wonderful man and a fantastic teacher who made me believable as Conan the Barbarian with his sword training. When I say no one is self-made, this is what I mean. Who knows if Conan would have been a success if Sensei Yamazki didn’t make my swordplay realistic? He played an important role in my life, he was a dear friend, and my thoughts are with his family.”

Therefore, reminiscing and mourning the loss of someone so important tells you just how much someone is able to positively influence your life.
