Harrison Ford‘s last run as the iconic archaeologist is less than a month away from its silver-screen premiere, and if early reviews are anything to go by then the future ofIndiana Jones 5is looking bleak. At least critics didn’t seem all too thrilled about the latest installment in the long-standing franchise after its Cannes debut. But reports claim that the movie won’t be subjected to the same fate in terms of its box office reception.
As per predictions laid down by Box Office Pro,Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destinyis believed to churn more numbers in the domestic circuit than Disney’s latest flop,Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumaniadid.
During its paltry run at the cinemas, the Paul Rudd-led superhero film managed to amass merely $214.4 million domestically against an exorbitant budget of $200 million. In comparison,Indiana Jones 5has been predicted to gross a minimum of $225 million at the domestic box office and about $380 million on the higher end.

What Does the Future ofIndiana Jones 5Behold?
If we look at theIndiana Jonesfranchise, the fourth installment in the swashbuckling film series has been the highest-grossing addition yet. The Steven Spielberg direction went on to earn somewhere around $790 million worldwide against a budget of $185 million, with its domestic collection standing high at $317.1 million.
While no other parts from the adventure saga have managed to fare as well asIndiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulldid, they did bring in good enough numbers. So, if we’re to go by its previous track record, thenIndiana Jones 5might just end up having a decent run at the box office.Not to mention, Ford’s last hurrah as Indy seems to be reason enough to attract a significant number of people to the theatres.

Though early reviews from critics have stamped the reputation of James Mangold’s film with heavy disappointment, one should never underestimate the power of nostalgia.
