George Lucas redefined the word ‘epic’ in the 70s and 80s with his cultStar Warstrilogy becoming one of the most iconic film series of all time. The prolific creator went on to make a prequel trilogy in the 90s that cemented his place as one of the greatest pop culture influencers in Hollywood. The films also made Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford bonafide superstars through their characters of Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, and Hans Solo, respectively.

IN 2012, George Lucas sold his production company Lucasfilm to Disney for a staggering $4.05 billion and relinquished his ownership of theStar Warsfranchise. With Disney now at the helm, a sequel trilogy was produced starting withThe Force Awakensin 2015 and culminating inThe Rise of Skywalkerin 2019. But the original cast of Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, and Harrison Ford who were called to reprise their roles in the first film, were unsure about being part of it.

Harrison Ford And Carrie Fisher Were Sceptical About The Disney-LedStar WarsTrilogy

Following Disney taking over theStar Warsownership from George Lucas, the production giant went on to develop the narrative of the iconic franchise by creating a 3-part sequel trilogy starting withEpisode 7: The Force Awakens.The film starred original cast members Mark Hamill,Carrie Fisher, andHarrison Fordwho reprised their famous roles along with other actors who were new to the plotline.

But the veterans were initially skeptical about accepting the project as they felt that their character arcs had come a full circle after 1983’sReturn of the Jedi.While Fisher felt that this idea of bringing back their characters could have come to fruition much earlier, Ford said,

“At the end of the first three films that we made, I had no thought whatsoever about revisiting the character or whether there was any ambition to bring the three characters back again. I never gave it a moment’s thought. If I had been asked at the time, I probably wouldn’t have imagined the potential for it.”

Despite their trepidation about their presence in the film, audiences still lapped it up mainly due to the 3 stars sharing screen space after many years while going back to their iconic roles.

Veteran action king Harrison Ford is officially a Marvel star.The Fugitiveactor will play the famous Army General Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross in the upcoming Marvel featureCaptain America: Brave New World, which will follow the story of the newly anointed Captain America, Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie. Mackie, a self-confessed fanboy of the veteran actor, was in awe of Ford’s spirit and energy which completely erased his earlier intimidation of being on the same set with theAir Force Onestar. Speaking of Ford’s chilled attitude and the way he made everyone feel at ease, Mackie said,

“He’s Harrison f*g Ford. There is this aura about him. But he dispels that really quickly because he’s such a cool guy. He’s everything a movie star should be. He would say, ‘Let’s shoot this piece of st.’ And everybody was like, ‘Yeah, let’s shoot this st.’
