Starfieldis one video game that has been highly anticipated for years, and the release date is nearing as it is set to come out on September 6. Described by developer Bethesda as their most ambitious and biggest game yet, it also promises a massive open world – or worlds, since you can explore over a thousand planets in the game. Add to that deep customization and RPG elements, and it becomes easy to understand the hype around this game.

But not everyone likes to fight in video games. There are those who like to complete Bethesda games without attacking a single NPC (non-playable character) through a character build geared specifically toward that. Despite Bethesda saying that such a playthrough may not be“totally feasible”,it hasn’t stopped gamers from trying and seemingly succeeding in creating a pacifist build inStarfield.

What are the stealth skills needed for a pacifist build in Starfield?

From all theStarfieldskills and challenges that we know about so far, four, in particular, seem to be helpful for a pacifist build. They are Concealment, Theft, Security, and Persuasion. Starting with Concealment, it’s a reasonable assumption that this skill allows the player to stay hidden, which should be handy given that they’ll be moving around in the shadows a lot. While in these shadows, investing in Theft will definitely come in handy to steal goods and items and it has the potential to help in a pacifist playthrough as well.

As for Security, it deeply complements the Theft skill, since if you’re able to max out the ability there won’t be a door, safe, or locker your character can’t open. Aside from stealing, it might also unlock areas and opportunities that are otherwise inaccessible, granting the player a lot of freedom. Lastly, in case everything goes south and you’re caught, Persuasion still might be able to help you talk your way out of the situation in the speech challenges, which Bethesda has even confirmed themselves.

What are the best traits for a pacifist build in Starfield?

Promised by Bethesda to be highly flexible, more so than in any of their previous games,Starfieldwill allow players to select from several traits, which will add several positive and negative modifiers in terms of the gameplay for your character. They can grant additional dialogues and may help determine faction allegiances too. Examples include Kid Stuff, Empath, and Extrovert.

For the purpose of a stealthy pacifistic build though, we want to go the opposite of Extrovert, which is Introvert. It’s more than possible that the player will be carrying out such stealthy missions alone, and the Introvert skill inStarfieldwill increase your endurance when out solo but will decrease it when you’re with your companions.
