MCU or the Marvel Cinematic Universe may be one of the biggest franchises for its incredible‘connecting movies like puzzle pieces’thing and excellent superheroes and their casting choices, but even the massive superhero franchise has failed when it comes to some CGI moments in its movies. Although most of the visual effects are cutting-edge and really sell their stuff, some others have failed gloriously at their job.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)

While Florence Pugh’s ruined heroic moment inBlack Widowbecause of the bad CGI might be one of the first scenes to pop into most fans’ minds when it comes to the worst CGIs by the MCU, that moment is far from theworstas there are others before it that have epically failed to work the charm as well.

MCU Has Had Worse CGI Moments Than Florence Pugh’s InBlack Widow

Florence Pugh‘s iconic heroic moment in MCU’sBlack Widowmay have been blasted due to the bad CGI effects (more on this later), but it wasn’t the only film that suffered at the hands of some terribly bad visual effects.

Included in the list are some moments worse than even that, like the villainous Najma’s death inMs. Marvel, Pip the Troll’s presence inEternals, or simply the initial trailed that Marvel released for the disaster that wasShe-Hulk: Attorney at Law.

Firstly, Najma’s death inMs. Marvel: When a dangerous portal opens to her home dimension in the mini-series,Nimra Bucha‘s main antagonist Najma could have had the perfect heroic moment when she decides to sacrifice herself to close the portal.

However, it didn’t pan out nicely for her because of the awful visual effects that made it a bit too obvious when she touched the portal and ended up getting crystallized and then crumbling down into bone dust, making the villain look more like a cartoon character than a real person.

Next on the list is Pip the Troll in 2022’sEternals: Although the character appears in the post-credits scenes of the movie for only a few minutes, his mere presence is hard to watch. Since he lived under a bridge in The Uncanny Valley, makers probably tried to make him look weird and different.

Unfortunately for him, Marvel couldn’t do the best of jobs with this character’s CGI as it did with those before him, and the troll’s movements were nothing short of being unbelievably stiff, unnatural, and rather wonky, which made it hard to focus on the hero he was introducing.

Last but not least in this countdown is the first trailer that was released for the superhero that was stamped upon by the audience, i.e. She-Hulk. While the entire character in the mini-seriesShe-Hulk: Attorney at Lawhas been created with visual effects, the trailer failed to capture it perfectly.

Not only did the initial trailer make her look like a poor visual effects makeup job, but also failed to represent the concept of how the character would be shown in the series, thus, leaving a not-so-good first impression on fans.

Judging from all these remarkable CGI fails by the MCU, it seems that even the biggest and wealthiest of franchises can malfunction about some things in their works!

Florence Pugh’sBlack WidowHeroic Moment Failed Epically With Bad CGI

For those who either didn’t watch MCU’sBlack Widowor are simply aware of which Florence Pugh heroic scene that was ruined by CGI is being referred to here (there were a lot of terrible CGI scenes in the movies, so we understand), here’s your guide:

The scene in talks here is Pugh’s character Yelena’s explosive attack at the end of the 2021 movie. In that, she leaps up on top of the turbine in mid-air to blow it up. However, her attempt at being remembered heroically on the big scene went down the drain, all thanks to the horrible visuals.

Not only was it painfully evident that she was actually placed on a green screen throughout the time she was standing on top of the helicarrier turbine, but even while she was falling, the wind effects failed at trying to make the scene look as realistic as possible.

All in all, the MCU could have handled the situation seriously well for an important scene like this one; the failure of which most probably played an incredible part in ruining Black Widow’s solo movie’s reputation.
