The actress previously explained that her latest comedy movie will offend people as it is a crucial part of comedy.
She recently appeared for an interview to promote her latest film,No Hard Feelings, which was released around the world on 23rd June 2023. So far, the movie has received decent reviews and an IMDb rating of 6.8 out of 10. The actress explained that the R-rated comedy movie will offend many viewers, adding that it is a part of the process.
Jennifer Lawrence says her latest comedy movie will offend people
ActressJennifer Lawrencerecently appeared for an interview with Sky News to talk about her latest film,No Hard Feelings. The actress explained that the movie will offend many people,
“I think it’s time for just a good old-fashioned laugh and it really is hard to make a comedy where you’re not offending people. Everybody in some sense will be offended by this film – you’re welcome.”
The actress feels like offending people is a crucial part of a comedy sketch. Without a doubt, being a comedian in today’s world is quite tough as you need to make sure you cater to everyone and avoid making any offensive jokes because that will lead to “cancellation.”

Jennifer Lawrence explained how the movie is different
Lawrence further explained that their approach was quite different and not like the “mean comedy” that people are aware of. She said,
“Something we learned from the old-time comedies is mean comedy is not really funny, making somebody feel bad about themselves – other than me making fun of me but the way that we did it is fine, we figured it out.”
In the movie, Lawrence plays Maddie, a broke Uber driver who wants to buy a new car. She then comes across an advert from two parents looking for a woman to date their 19-year-old introverted son (Andrew Barth Feldman).

The comedy genre has changed over the years
The first ever comedy movie was a 60-second-long movie calledL’Arroseur Arrosé(1895) which was directed and produced by Louis Lumière. Since then, the genre has drastically changed. Without a doubt, the comedy genre gained popularity because of some notable stars like Charlie Chaplin, Harold Lloyd, and Buster Keaton.
The genre has transformed over the years, as comedians now embrace different styles, formats, and platforms. It has evolved to reflect the changing times, pushing boundaries, and amplifying diverse voices, while still serving its primary purpose of bringing joy and laughter to audiences.
