Ezra Miller’sThe Flashwas an intention for Warner Brothers Discovery to save the sinking ship of continuous DCEU movies. The Flashdoes bring a lot to the table when it comes to the multiverse crossover but there’s still something lurking in the shadows for the studio.

The DCEU Error
It’s hard to tell exactly where the DCEU went wrong. It seems the fans have outgrown its narratives that have explored characters beyond the mainstream- Superman or Batman. While the recent DCEU releases have faced extensive backlash at the box office, its rival Marvel Studio has laid almost successful plans for all movies coming out from the studio. Of course, MCU also has bummers at the box office, the most recent examples beingAnt-Man and The Wasp: QuatumaniaandEternals.TheAnt-Mansequel’s earnings somehow exceeded the budget but it was thought to be the studio’s highest grosser.
The DCEU has seen wost days in the box office and the failure continued for a while. When the studio unleashedEzra Miller’sThe Flashto be a box office dominator, there is something that seems not to work well enough for DC.

Just earlier, DCEU has two major flops-Black AdamandShazam! 2and the poor commercial runs for the movies could heavily impactThe Flashas well.Black AdamwasDwayne Johnson’spassion project and the studio also backed the film with the potential expectation of a landmark of success the studio needs. ButBlack Adamwas not enough, neither wasShazam! 2.
While Warner Bros. Discovery has enjoyed both critical and commercial success from Elseworlds stories likeJokerandThe Batmanof Gotham, it has been equally important to revise the error that the mainstream line-ups are currently facing. Of course, the studio knows it too, as they hiredJames Gunnwho created a landmark in the Marvel Studios.

CanThe FlashSave DCEU?
Even the extensive marketing hype could not save the highly inflamed Miller controversies. Amidst the controversies, the actor gets a standalone movie for their character in the DCEU. The news of Miller playing the DC’s titular character was not well received by the fans of the studio. Further, the studio did a terrible job of handling Miller’s controversies when it enhanced after his new movie.
According to The Hollywood Reporter,The Flashis tracking an opening to $70 million at the domestic box office. The studio expects the Father’s Day weekend could bring more audience members to the theatre.

The Flashdoes have some interesting takeout, after all,Michael Keaton’sreturn in his iconic role as Bruce Wayne aka The Batman has implemented a nostalgic effect on fans. On top of that, the movie also hasBen Affleck’sBatman cameo, which makes two Batmen in the movie. Further,Andrés Muschietti’sflick brings the most highlighting crossover of the DCEU ever even bringing backMichael Shannon’svillainous General Zod.
Despite being one of the final films of Gunn andPeter Safran’sprevious regime, the new heads of DCEU have supported the film extensively. Gunn calls The Flash“probably one of the greatest superhero movies ever made.”
Further, the pre-release positive reviews and fan following of Gunn are huge beneficial factors forThe Flashbut the prediction shows that the movie is not nowhere near crossing the $100 million opening landmark. The movie has created stupendous hype and the studio could use some groundbreaking success afterBlack AdamandShazam! 2disaster.
